Division of Student Affairs and Office of Social Justice and Inclusion Xavier's Gumbo Garden grows fresh, local produce for community members and our neighbors. Produce is distributed directly or through Vincent's Vault. The Garden, located on campus, hosts a number of volunteer days. Vincent's Vault is for the Xavier community who need the assistance of the food pantry. The purpose of this pantry is to help stamp out food insecurities. There is a growing need of current individuals experiencing periods throughout each month when they run out of food or lack basic personal items.

Through a new initiative, Sodexo Magic has taken strides to prioritize equity, inclusion, and sustainability in its management and food production practices. National initiatives include reducing food waste and single-use plastics, and providing healthier, more sustainable meal choices. Here at Xavier, Sodexo recycles fryer oil, purchases from local farmers and works to minimize food waste.
